Tomatoes (Galina, or possibly Amish Paste)
There's always a vague disbelief, when planting seeds, that those dry little husks will turn into an actual real live plant. It's something of a relief to find out that they do.
Unsurprisingly, the aubergines in the airing cupboard are looking less convincing - still a tray full of potting compost. I'm still holding out hope that they might do something before we move though.
I wish I could get interested in gardening....I suppose it is just not my thing...

I definitely came to gardening from wanting to grow our own food, rather than wanting to garden, if you know what I mean. I'm still nowhere near what I'd describe as passionate (and I think a fairly major phobia of ALL bugs is going to stop me ever really loving it), but I find it a good way to be outside and cropping my own veg is enough motivation to keep me going!
