My sister, who is, ahem, a little bit keen on vintage (read: hasn't worn anything that wasn't vintage or vintage inspired for about a year now) asked me to help her turn a dress into a playsuit for her upcoming holiday/business trip to Thailand.
This started out as a teeny weeny button front dress
Photo thiefed directly from Charlotte's blog. She won't mind.
I started out just trying to essentially sew the front and back together, but there was some funky dragging thing going on which was vastly unflattering, so I ended up sewing a little gusset in between the legs (from the inside of one leg to the inside of the other, rather than running from front to back. Random). I don't think it'll win any competitions, but it looks nice and it will almost certainly survive some sunbathing on the beach. There are some prettier pics of the playsuit here, and more of those collages (she has no children. She has time).
Not bad, hey? Also, apparently I frown a lot when I'm sewing
Oi, photo thief! :-p
