Last week's impromptu beach trip was such a success that we did it again on the weekend. This time we took the kite, a source of much fascination for Teddy
Of course, now we're becoming old hands at this beach thing, I've realised that there's definitely some beach-related sewing that needs doing. Not only do we definitely need a beach bag (multiple shopping bags will only keep us going for so long, and surely it's only a matter of time before we forget something crucial), but a beach blanket is surely an essential, along with some homemade beach towels, perhaps inspired by the tutorial on Andrea's blog.
I'll add that to the (slightly daunting, now) list of things to do when the sunshine quilt is complete. Speaking of which, guess what I was doing at the beach?
It's probably something like 85% done as I write, and with the arrival of the quilting thread last week (woopeee!) and the backing fabric this morning (double woopeee!) I'm all set to piece the back (simple, after piecing hundreds and hundreds of hexagons, surely) and get the quilting started just as soon as I finish the top.
My boys, meanwhile, were somewhere out there...
